Using Tomboy as a reminder

Yesterday I thought how it would be nice to write down a Tomboy note, and have it pop up periodically or at a given time to remind me to do something. (Tomboy is a great note taking app for Gnome with just-enough text formatting.) Something like this has become a necessity for me – a calendar app still feels like too much “paperwork”. Looking around how to write such a plugin myself, I saw that it has been already implemented long time ago – it’s called Tomboy Reminder and works by recognizing various forms of date and/or time input:
